The Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute Ltd is a public company limited by guarantee. The VCCRI is an endorsed income tax exempt charity and deductible gift recipient under Australian Taxation Office Regulations.

The VCCRI is a member of the Sister's of Charity Health Service, and affiliate of the St Vincent's Hospital Sydney.

In addition, The VCCRI is formally affiliated with The University of New South Wales.

The VCCRI maintains the following accreditations and memberships:

• The Office of Gene Technology Regulator
• The Office of Research Integrity (USA)
• Australian Stem Cell Centre
• Australian Association of Medical Research Institutes
• Licensed under the Department of Consumer and Employment Protection of Western Australia

The VCCRI is compliant with, and is highly considerate of, appropriate standards of ethical conduct in research. To this end, the Institute is a member of the St Vincent's Hospital and Garvan Institute of Medical Research Ethics Committee.
