Would you like to tour the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute?
The Institute regularly conducts tours allowing visitors to gain first-hand knowledge of the research being conducted, and meet some of the scientists behind the research.
The VCCRI believes that conducting tours is a very important aspect of allowing the community access to the research being conducted - research that is fully funded by the community through donations and the allocation of research grants.
If you would like to visit the VCCRI, please contact our Fund Development Office on (02) 9295 8715. Arrangements can be made for either your group, or an individual to accompany an existing group, to tour the VCCRI.
What is involved in a tour?
Typically tours are held on the mornings of either Tuesday or Thursday and take approximately 1.5 hours. On arrival groups are served a complimentary morning tea. A senior member of staff will then introduce visitors to the history of the Institute and explain, in basic terms, the overall direction of the research being conducted.
After being divided into smaller groups, visitors will then be introduced to one of the scientists who will personally guide the smaller group through a couple of the research laboratories, where in layman's terms, they will be introduced to the world of research at the grass-roots level.
Tours of the Institute are FREE.
Looking for a Guest Speaker?
In addition to inviting members of the community to tour its' laboratories, the VCCRI is very happy to provide a guest speaker to address groups in the community on the research being conducted at the VCCRI, and on the dangers of heart disease.
