Give more than your heart

Make a donation to heart research in your loved one's name.

Being in love can make your heart flutter. It can even make your heart beat faster.

But what happens when that racing heart is a sign of something more concerning.

Every 12 minutes, an Australian experiences the heartbreak of losing someone due to cardiovascular disease.

That staggering statistic is one we are determined to change. With your help, we know it’s possible.

At the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute, we know a thing or two about the language of love. Our lives are dedicated to keeping the hearts of those we love safe, through innovative research that helps prevent, diagnose and treat heart disease.

You can prevent heartbreak with a kind gift that can help protect the hearts of those you love. Your donation will support cutting-edge research to care for our hearts now, and into the future.

Please make a heartfelt donation today.

We’re serious about matters of the heart

Our scientists are working across multiple laboratories and projects to uncover new ways to protect the hearts of those you love:

  • Determining unknown genetic causes of heart defects. In a staggering eight out of 10 cases, the cause is unknown.
  • Developing diagnostic tools to determine individuals who may be at greater risk of heart disease, heart attacks or who might be at risk of having a baby born with a heart defect due to deficiency in a molecule called NAD.
  • Investigating other causes of heart defects like gestational hypoxia (lack of adequate oxygen supply to the embryo) and iron deficiency during pregnancy.
  • Using cutting-edge stem cell technology to uncover crucial links in hypoplastic left heart patients, one of the most fatal heart defects.

You can give a gift to protect your loved one’s heart. Please, donate today.
