Curb your alcohol intake
If you drink alcohol, it’s best to limit your intake. One or two standard alcoholic drinks per day is recommended. Drinking too much alcohol can lead to high blood pressure, diabetes, liver problems, heart failure and weight gain. However, small amounts of alcohol can improve heart-health by increasing levels of HDL cholesterol; i.e. the ‘good’ type of cholesterol in your blood.
