Curb your alcohol intake
If you drink alcohol, it’s best to limit your intake. Limiting standard alcoholic drinks to 1-2 per day is recommended. Drinking too much alcohol can lead to high blood pressure, diabetes, liver problems, heart failure and weight gain. However, small amounts of alcohol can improve heart-health by increasing levels of HDL cholesterol; i.e. the ‘good’ type of cholesterol in your blood.
