Researchers at the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute are fiercely committed to discovering better ways to diagnose, treat, cure and importantly prevent heart disease.

But we know all too well that we cannot stop the heart break alone. None of it would be possible without your vital support and there are many ways you can help us achieve our vision for all Australians.

A gift in celebration

If you have a special occasion coming up – a wedding, birthday or anniversary – why not ask friends and family to make a donation to the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute in place of a gift to you.

There are several ways you can celebrate a special occasion in support of the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute;

• The easiest way to request donations for your special occasion is to set up your own online fundraising page. You can use emails, social media or word of mouth to ask your friends and family to make a donation to your chosen cause.
• If you are on Facebook, you can use their Facebook Fundraiser tool which helps you set up a fundraising page. Facebook does not charge users or us any fees for using their service.
• Let us know when your special day is and we can send you donation forms or envelopes especially for your big day – these can be left on tables or sent out with the invitations. We can send a thank you to anyone who has kindly donated in lieu of gifts for your special occasion – just let us know who by contacting us on (02) 9295 8787 or email us info@victorchang.edu.au
• After your event, we’ll let you know how much has been raised from your special occasion.
• Make a donation as a gift to someone special. We will send you a tax receipt and if you would like to include a gift card just let us know when you donate. Please add the person’s name and what they are celebrating so we can personalise the card.

How to organise donations in lieu of flowers

If you would like friends and mourners to make a donation to the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute in lieu of flowers, you may wish to include this request in your loved one’s funeral notice. Please consider the following wording:

“In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in memory of …………………… to the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute, PO Box 699, Darlinghurst, NSW, 2010.”

Once we have been advised of your wish for donations instead of flowers, we will arrange for Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute In Memoriam donation envelopes to be available at the funeral. These envelopes include a donation form and once they have been completed they should be collected and returned to us and the donations will be processed. We will send a tax deductible receipt to everyone who has provided their details.

Donate in memory of a loved one

A gift in memory is a special way to honour your loved one. When someone close to you passes away, a gift to the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute can be a meaningful tribute to their memory.

There are a number of ways you can support heart research in memory of a loved one, including a direct donation in the form below, donations in lieu of flowers at a funeral, and ongoing contributions to mark a birthday or other event in their life. You can also choose to set up a Facebook fundraiser page in their memory. All funds raised via Facebook come directly to us without fees being charged to us.

This kind gesture will help scientists at the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute to develop enduring treatments and preventions for heart disease.
