Stem Cell Production Facility

Our Stem Cell Production Facility combines the most advanced robotics technology with world-class equipment for scientists to study - in extraordinary detail - the molecular, cellular and tissue properties of cells from hundreds instead of only dozens of patients, and up to 100 times faster than ever before.

Funded by the NSW Government, this high-tech hub includes stem cell production, as well as cell function and screening to better help scientists in their search for the fundamental reason why some people are more susceptible to certain diseases and not others, and why some patients respond well to medication and others do not.  

Cardiovascular Stem Cell Facility - Innovation Centre

Based at the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute's new Innovation Centre, the Cardiovascular Stem Cell Facility features;

This suite of cutting-edge technology will enable scientists to understand the mechanistic basis of heart diseases, across the population, in their search to solve the unsolved.

Stem Cell Facility - Innovation Centre, Sydney

From congenital heart disease and arrhythmia syndromes, to atherosclerosis and ischaemic heart disease, scientists will be able to answer the question of a person’s susceptibility to the most common causes of heart disease.

Researchers will be able to test in quick succession which one of dozens of drugs will be most effective for a particular patient, heralding personalised medicine of the future.
