Soirée by the Sea 2024: Inside the party

21 May 2024

Our annual Soirée by the Sea did not disappoint with around 250 people flocking to Bondi’s Icebergs Dining Room and Bar.

The chic affair drew guests from across Sydney and beyond who enjoyed a beautiful afternoon mingling and dancing to raise funds for the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute.

They were entertained with an incredible set by DJ Alice Q and magician Jackson Aces and enjoyed Icebergs canapés, a champagne station, cocktails, and caviar bumps – which proved to be a huge hit.

MC Richard Wilkins told the gathered crowd about the many myths surrounding heart disease and how it affects all Australians. And revealed the incredible work being conducted by the Institute’s scientists to deliver a better future for their friends and family.

The Channel 9 TV star said: “While the stories of heart disease are devastating, change is possible and that’s why we’re all here today. Not only to raise funds to support heart disease research at the Institute, but also to recognise the importance of good heart health for all of us.”

His impassioned speech prompted guests to dig deep. A raffle and silent auction with a host of incredible prizes helped raise a record $200,000 for the Institute.

Prizes included a luxury cruise on Sydney Harbour with 20 guests aboard the super yacht SIRENUSE, a three-month membership to Sydney’s most exclusive gym, the Lockeroom, and a VIP Sydney Swans experience including a signed guernsey; tickets to a home game; and a tour of Sydney Swans HQ led by Sydney Swans CEO, Tom Harley.

The day would not have been the success it was without the huge efforts of our Young Appeals Committee (YAC).
